<<<You didn't get my point. It was Saddam's misjudgment of the determination of the USA.>>>>
Definitely
Thats a problem with a man who dismisses anyone close who disagrees with him
1. Having those big oil deals with French and Germans meant he figured he was safe from the UN. And having beaten the sanctions once, why not again Your above point wins.
2. Maps show that Iraq is a long way from here, and SH is the big frog in the pond there. With a new German designed castle that only an A-bomb can destroy, he misjudged we would come up with bunker busters. Wrong
3. GWB was new in office, SH thought he could not gather enough supporters to conduct a war . Wrong again
4. Thought our troops were vulnerable to roadside harassment and we would pull out with enough casualties- didn't happen
5. Thought we couldn't take out his city- parked armament without killing a whole bunch of civilians. Wrong
6. Thought we would hit some Mosques or schools and bring down the condemnation af all Arabs if he put guns and soldiers in them Wrong
7 Thought his new underground fiber communication system would survive air attacks Wrong
No need to go on, his time was up and Allah called
