Yes, you would have had to be there, too much to explain in less than a full semestre ... another way canuckistanism comes into it, is that there was involved early on in ihub history a dentist from Montréal whose ethics were - um, how can i put this delicately - questioned in certain quarters .... in which quarters i happened to reside myself, if you catch the drift ..... there is a poster here, mmmary, who has at least one page on her personal site devoted to remembering ihub only that way, from which it has long since grown of course, since Bob Z took over .... site is www.mary.cc i think, not a page i would personally load as i wouldn't want such a person collecting any personal info

Another thing the canatout.com was sending up was this - icihome.com ... long story, don't know all details myself, but you can bet your boots there are crapstocks involved somewhere

Mindsets - i knew a guy who was a little old in the early thirties for the Hitlerjugend, he was in the SA, very young, he thought he would maybe have been purged with Röhm in '34 if he hadn't been on a camping trip at the time ... as it was he got demoted with a black mark against his record, never rose above private because of that, he was captured on the eastern front and spent seven years in Siberia .... got to his home farm not far from Dresden in Sachsen about 1950, he found it untouched but new people there, no place for him, that and the patch of timber with which he had been entrusted by his father was gone, cut down in the war to build emergency bridges or something .... he liked to grow stuff, he had no trust in banks whatsoever, always had a wad of hundred dollar bills in his back pocket, to prove that the will meant more than anything he would stub out a cigarrette in his palm, all you had to do to inspire that action was to mention words like russian or war, or bring up the concept of hardship in any way ... his granddaughters enlisted me to bring out of him stuff he would not otherwise tell, they would leave the two of us alone with a tape recorder going and a fridge full of beer, he wouldn't normally say much about those days to anyone else ..... and he had some attitudes, intense and conflicting, and he knew it, more than once he said things like, it is probably good that the old die off, so the young don't have to go through this shit again
