Not sure if we can generalize so uniformly. I know some very civil conservatives posting on SI, and some very bizarre left-wingers as well.

We just need to recognize and weed out those on both sides who degenerate the forum with insults and baseless accusations, who basically have nothing to contribute to the debate and are here to pick fights.
