Re: Revision of Trading Rules – Minimum Quotation Increments
The TSX Venture Exchange is pleased to announce that effective at the opening of trading on April 2, 2003, pursuant to a change in its trading rules, it will permit securities traded below $0.50 per share to trade, and be quoted, in minimum increments of $0.005 (half pennies). Currently the minimum allowable tick is $0.01 (one penny). This change harmonizes the trading rules governing minimum ticks with those applicable to stocks trading on the Toronto Stock Exchange.
This change is expected to provide investors with greater flexibility in pricing their orders for securities that trade below $0.50. In particular, this change is anticipated to be of benefit for securities, such as rights and warrants, that are priced relative to the underlying common shares, and often trade at low price levels.
For further information on this change, please contact Trading Services, TSX Markets, at (416) 947- 4357 or 1-877-370-0200.
I noticed a bid for .065 on market depth for ECU this morning. I thought it was a typo but decided to check it out...it could be (and I guess is, old news) but it's the first I've heard of it...
