long-gone, thanks, but I actually saw the program on BBC TV.
Made me think of SA under the previous, apartheid regime when police torture was the order of the day. Besides electrocution, drowning, beatings, throwing people out of aircraft as was done in Vietnam, putting a hose up the backside, and the other "usual" methods, one professed expert (Sergeant Benzien, I still remember his name) used a piece of inner-tube from a motor-car tyre which he pulled over the victim's face to suffocate him to death or near death, as the case may be. He claimed the method was cheap, portable and left no traces of evidence. I can tell you that the crude methods used by the Iraqis leave a lot to be desired.
I believe the Israelis are also experts in torture. In fact, they used to share many of their techniques with members the security police of the previous SAn regime.
Come to think about it, the Spanish Inquisition was quite famous for their methods.
But, what is it that attracts you to torture? |
