I wasn't talking about JohnM. There is a significant trend happening, I was commenting on that. I had Al Gore in my when I was typing. The poor little Dixie Chicks suffering from economic retaliation. Paul Krugman compared the Dixie Chicks boycott to KristallNacht. The word McCarthyism is tossed at people for simply disagreeing with the anti-war protestors. The proposed Oregon law that threatens people with 25 years in jail for blocking traffic is the only McCarthite or free speech blocking action I have seen.

My comment wasn't a flame, it was an attempt to name what I consider a serious and troubling social phenomena. The use of free speech to protect people from the consequences of their speech. No responsibility, no freedom. However, accountability is something meant to flow left-to-right not the other way, when it flows the other way it is called bullying, flaming, McCarthyism, Orwellian.
