This will happen before ADSL becomes widespread. With or without Amati. But we aren't talking about tomorrow. First we need to address the 56K standards.

Yes. I thought Amati supporters took this as a given :)

On a more serious note, if xDSL (most likely ADSL or VDSL) were to become widely used, I do think they will go on the motherboard one day (several years from now well into the next century, maybe 2005). As my previous visit to the thread made it clear, I don't think ADSL will be deployed until the end of 98 at best. I won't consider 1-2k lines deployment. Techie
