Dan - If backwards compatible with IS-95 and CdmaOne they will pay. But Ericsson's W-CDMA is not intended to be backwards compatible with CDMAOne. They intend to have it backwards compatible with GSM primarily. There is the rub. If they try a different implementation of CDMA they will claim they have not infringed on CDMAOne. QCOM will of course claim that they have. Lawyers will get rich... Alternatively, there was an agreement between QCOM and ERICY several months ago to not counter sue for 7 months and they may settle somehow before going to court again. What we may be seeing now is jockeying for position to improve bargaining and settlement power. It looks to me like QCOM is getting all the BIG DOGS while ERICY is getting "trials" with the pups. JGOREN how do you see it? QDoggie sniff it out. I think there is a bird in that bush -- will the qdog dog hunt?? Stay tuned...<woof>
