This is OT but a propos. If you want to get an academic going, ask him whether biology/anthropology etc. profs who believe in creationism should be allowed to teach it.

Not that I believe in creationism, but you know the answer is no.

And the rationale - creationism isn't legitimate, but wishing for a million Mogadishus is. Go figure.

As for me, I say neither is legitimate to teach on the classroom, but in the case of the Columbia prof, he wasn't teaching it in the classroom, he was speaking at a teach in, an after hours activity.
