A western drive to reshape the world in its own image, and a resistance that wants to remain independent.


We had just finished an nice dialog about the need to avoid cheap stereoptype of the Arab world. Wham, you deliver this cheap stereotype of the western world.

Now, the fact that you believe this stereotype says something about you but not the western world.

Here' a koan for you:

A superstition is only a superstition when it's not a superstition.

You have no problem calling other people on their manipulations and stereotypes but when I call you on yours I am 'angry' and 'uncivil'.

The idea of the western world driving to mold the rest of the world in it's image is everybit as vile, insulting and ignorant as the idea that Islam is out to convert the western world.
