Sometimes both.

I'd just like to see Bush start to get up and talk about the economy, how we're fixing it, and why people should be confident that it is mending. War talk naturally depresses business activity, because of the uncertainty. I fear the Q1 results will be disappointing, because business leaders hate uncertainty. If Q1 is a disaster, it could send us into that double dip. Right at a time when Bush will be asking for even more money.

Isn't that depressing enough to make anyone a pessimist?
