ERICY G* phones = GSM. QCOM G* phones = CDMA. Apparently, there is limited demand for G* in the GSM flavor (not surprising since Verizon isn't exactly putting forth a marketing bonanza, doubtful if GSM operators around the world even know G* exists), while somehow, somewhere there is still some demand for CDMA G. Maybe govt or larger volume deal is over horizon (after restructuring)? Or, maybe its simply minimum necessary to satisfy some type of contractual obligation under the original G contract (that had to be met to insure a strong bargaining position in the restructuring--i.e. demonstration of good faith). Given price point and capabilities of Inmarsat, what would G* fixed phone have to offer? Stock gapped up to $.08 at the open, so someone must know something. - g -
