ERICY G* phones = GSM. QCOM G* phones = CDMA. Apparently, there is limited demand for G* in the GSM flavor (not surprising since Verizon isn't exactly putting forth a marketing bonanza, doubtful if GSM operators around the world even know G* exists), while somehow, somewhere there is still some demand for CDMA G*. Maybe govt or larger volume deal is over horizon (after restructuring)? Or, maybe its simply minimum necessary to satisfy some type of contractual obligation under the original G* contract (that had to be met to insure a strong bargaining position in the restructuring--i.e. demonstration of good faith). Given price point and capabilities of Inmarsat, what would G* fixed phone have to offer? Stock gapped up to $.08 at the open, so someone must know something. - g -
