You are really hopeless. You post dubious claims made by someone in a "letter to the editor" as some sort of substantial proof of your position. Please do at least some research before you spout. I suggest starting with John Toland's comprehensive history "Rising Sun", which is told from the Japanese pov by a historian who lived in Japan before and after WWII, had a Japanese wife, access to many of the major military and political figures of that time and to records of both the Japanese govmt and military, as well as US records. The Japanese had no viable nuclear research project and no knowledge, from Stalin or anyone else, that the US was close to having a working device.

Your entertaining source was only right in saying that there were still powerful forces on the military side that did not want to surrender. They did not want to surrender even after the two bombs were dropped. When Emperor Hirohito finally intervened on the side of political and some military leaders, the die-hards tried to prevent his national address to the Japanese people ordering them to do so.
