If I remember my history on Korea correctly, MacArthur decided to call it quits by threatening the use of nuclear weapons (which the North Koreans and the Chinese did not have). A stalemate was declared, and the North Koreans (who expected to win) were forced to go home to think again..

Looks like they did "think again" too -ng-
