What a bald faced liar.

You said there were no alternatives offered, when in fact there was one offered in THE PREVIOUS SENTENCE.
Obviously, Iraqi society would reconstitute itself. There is no reason to think otherwise.

Well, here's the stupid sentence about Iraqi society reconstituting itself as soon as sanctions against Saddam's regime were lifted. And the previous sentence.

The choice was never restricted to war or murderous sanctions that destroy the society and strengthen the dictator. Another possibility was allowing the society to reconstitute so Iraqis could determine their own fate...

No alternative offered. Just the claim that if all sanctions were dropped against Saddam's regime something magical would happen, Iraqi society would "reconstitute" itself, and Saddam Hussein and his murderous oppressive Stalinist police state would just disappear. Yes, dream world is an accurate characterization.

Of course, evils aren't removed from the world by wishing them away. And we both know neither Chomsky nor you really want to see an avowed enemy of America like Saddam leave the scene.
