04/04/2003   KurdishMedia.com
London (KurdishMedia.com) 04 April 2003: The coalition forces have fully captured the Saddam International Airport on the outskirts of the Iraqi capital, Baghdad.
The fierce battle ended with 320 Iraqi soldiers killed and 2500 Republican Guards stripping their uniforms and surrendering, told Brigadier General Vincent Brooks as he was delivering daily briefing in the Collation General Command Centre in Qatar.
To emphasize the importance of the airport, the General said, "It is a gateway to future Iraq." The airport is three squared miles wide, twice the size of London Heathrow Airport.<<
