Addi,
You state that no software developer will accept MSFT's version of Java, but why would they go with Sun's version of JAVA if it now became incompatible with Windows? What would be the incentive for going with Sun's Java? Plus, if Microsoft makes itself incompatible with Sun's Java isn't that a big loss for Sun? If Microsoft insists, how can people avoid having to write to two different situations? And given that Windows dominates, if people have to choose aren't they more likely to choose to be compatible with Windows? This may be phrased very naively because of my almost non-existent grasp of the technical issues involved, but do you see what I'm getting at? By the way, I'm not trying to argue against your point but really only trying to understand how you arrived at it.
