The desire to establish a universal ummah or world wide caliphate is incompatible with the modern world.

Do you feel as strongly against Christianity's missionary work? I assure you they desire the spread of Christianity (especially their own brand of it) just as strongly. The problem is not this desire. The problem is in the perceived methods of realizing this desire. Except for its very early days (and minor exceptions later on), Islam did not go to war to spread the religion. I can't say the same about Christianity. So to think that an Islamist regime will go around waging crusades is off the left field.

Before you ask me to get used to the contrary, you have to present better arguments.
