Good find again G. No reaction to the end of the war with Germany. I can't help but wonder if that was simply that we were still at war with Japan. If you move on to after VJ Day then there is definite improvement.

News that Japan would surrender reached the United States on Aug. 14, 1945, but a formal surrender did not occur until Sept. 2, when Gen. Douglas MacArthur, the supreme Allied commander in the Pacific, accepted it on the battleship Missouri in Tokyo Bay.
