A slightly different theory - 1) Most Iraqi people aren't willing to die for Saddam, or blow up their country. They want Saddam & crew gone. They want the US gone as soon as Saddam & crew are gone.

2) I bet Saddam does not get much negative information. Would you like to bring him bad news ? This isolation of leadership occurs in corporations which (usually) can't pull your fingernails out. Imagine what it 's like in Saddam land.

I will agree with Moominoid that the US has a huge advantage- but if the Iraqis REALLY wanted to, they could smash the supply lines almost totaly, or cause them to be routed way out in the Western Desert.
