Billy, The CSS content scrambling system is needed to decode DVD content that is encrypted so that uncompressed digital content doesn't pass along the PCI bus in a PC.. Correct me if I am wrong David N. , but the macrovision chip is used for futher copy protection once the decryped data from the CSS chip, CSS on the DVD chip or in Software, is on its way to be encoded for analog output to a TV. K
