Well, the President has SOME effect on economic well being. Clinton will be remembered as the President who kept government spending down, allowing for the reduction of the national debt to nearly nothing. Bush will be remembered as one of the most reckless spenders ever, whose intentional budget deficits did little more than scare investors away.

Without the discipline exercised by Clinton, business would have hesitated to make the kinds of investments that created one of the biggest economic booms in history. Bush will be remembered as the person who allowed similar gains to accrue only to the likes of Enron and Halliburton executives, including his own vice president.

I predict that when the sh__ finally hits the fan, Bush junior will be seen as the worst and most corrupt president since Warren Harding.

And I haven't even mentioned his judicial nominees.
