Yes, the smart money is on John Edwards. He's the one to watch. Kerry is getting the early spotlight. But, as is sometimes the case in a horse race, the early leader often fades as the race reaches maturity. John Edwards has the background that could make him a Democrat that is a real contender in 2004. Edwards could carry some southern states and could be competitive in the Midwest. I'm keeping an eye on John Edwards.
