Comparing Excel spreadsheets...

Save both sheets as text files.

Click File, Save As, and in the box where it says Excel spreadsheet, click it to get it to save as a text file. (Save a copy: don't overwrite the original.)

Now that you have two text files, use the Windows utility FC.EXE (File Compare) to compare the files. Click Start, Run, and in the box, type

FC File1.TXT File2.TXT

This utility will display the differences between the two files.

FC File1.TXT File2.TXT > LOG.TXT

If you use this command, the differences will be saved in LOG.TXT for later use. You can also read LOG.TXT into excel and work with multiple panes.

FC /?

This command will display a list of options for FC. Take a peek and see if there's anything useful. (/W may be needed.)
