OT:

Please don't take this personally. China has many things going for it and is to be commended for the things they've done right in growing their economy, but in regards to the way they've handled this SARS outbreak, they screwed up royally. The whole world knows that the Chinese government blew it with their attempted cover-up, and that same Chinese government is now belatedly acknowledging that fact and apologizing for it. IMO, China is heading in the right direction, but some old bad habits die hard, and this is an example of it. They should have learned from the way the Soviets bungled their response to the Chernobyl disaster. When these type of problems cross borders, secrecy is no longer a viable option.
