I've read Jihad vs. McWorld before, but it's always worth reading again.

My problem with it is that I disagree with one of the central premises. I don't see mass culture as homogeneous, I see it as heterogeneous and getting more so all the time.

Consumers have more and more choices. Travellers have more and more destinations. Businesses have more and more markets. Students can learn more and more things. Investors can invest in almost any country in the world, although whether they should is a different matter.

Bin Laden is the one who wants to homogenize the world.
