Big postwar role for oil majors, OPEC
Report: Iraqi exiles, U.S. officials reach oil agreement

LONDON (CBS.MW) -- Iraqi exiles and U.S. officials reached an agreement Saturday that could clear the way for major international oil companies and the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries to play a major postwar role in the shattered country's energy industry, according to a wire service report.

WHEW, now there's a relief .. and quickly too .. who'd have guessed? For a while there it seemed like there would be no role for the oil majors - lol.

"The conference, held under the auspices of the State Department, also recommended Baghdad stay in OPEC, though without limits on production, the Iraqis told Reuters."

Yep, all effective cartel memebers do particularly well when they can't control their own supply to the market .. freedom .. freedom -g
