Douglas, thanks for the recap of Kursk. Classic battle, with classic outcome.

The big differences here are many. At Kursk the Soviets knew the plan and were able to prepare - Hitler was too arrogant to believe his forces couldn't punch through with a full frontal assault. In this case the Iraqis have no intelligence, and the coalition has all the initiative and freedom to adapt. Toss in overwhelming technical advantage and it doesn't really wash as a comparison.

It is easy to arm chair quarterback, I've always felt the Germans should have led on the Russians as they did, and then attacked another sector of the front that wasn't dug in and well prepared.
