Past aside, Bush is in *severe* danger of being viewed as the one at the helm of a huge economic disaster. He needs to get his head up above the details and plot a strategy for getting us back to prosperity.

Difficult to do when the 'opposition' is doing everything it can to ensure the country remains in a recession until the next election as they hope for a rerun of the 1st. Bush's defeat. According to various economic think tanks and economists passage of the full 'tax relief bill' would generate 2 million jobs, but, passed in the Senate version, half of the package, would cause generation of 1 million jobs less than the full package. Hopefully the reconciliation bill will be closer to what is needed for revival of the economy and put breadwinners back to work.
