"By 5pm UK time the Marines had taken huge sections of the south east of the city, according to military sources. They had reportedly secured a waterworks in the area and were consolidating their position.

There was no details of prisoners, or casualties on either side. The sources said it was hoped British troops will have near total control of the city within the next 24 hours."
