Hi Addi,

I have read many of your messages on this thread. I think you are absolutely a pioneer in digging out and show the huge potential and strategic position of SUNW and JAVA have. I agree with you all your points about SUN.
But what I want to say is that Java probably just provide a more equal basis for all companies to compete and maybe can benifit all good and high quality companies like SUNW and MSFT. The reason I see it is that all good companies can leverage on this technology to extend to a completely different market. For example you can run MSFT application softwares on SUN's workstations with Windows emulator and you can run from a PC terminal those applications that are only available on SUN Solaris platform. And in the future it will be virtualy machine and OS independent to run all kinds of applicaitons. This is not to say NT or Solaris will win one over the other. I think both will have their own market. NT fitted on X86 PCs and Solaris fitted on Sparcs.
In the end, there could be more then one winners in this evolution.
In this respect, I don't see why Microfsoft want to intentionally make their version of Java to be incompatible but may be just the result of early to market attempt and upgrade later.
I don't see that Wintel is in conflict with SUNW at all, I think SUNW and Wintel probably can leverage thru each other.

Regards,

Ronnie
