With respect to our troops there is something that hasn't been discussed. Rummy has wanted us to fight a hitech war using less troops smart weapons and modern communications. this is very similar to the slimmed down military that Clinton espoused. It seems to work rather well. So why did bush campaign to build up our conventional forces when the man he wanted as defense secretary didn't agree?
