Ike was on a satelight station broadcast out of London to over 100 countries ...in a debate with some staunch war-mongering muslim Cleric bent on making the liberation of Iraq into a war on "Islam ", calling for , you guessed it --->JIHAD!!
(ho hum...another day month year, another = "someone's been ji~had'ed ")
...and Ike taking the position that it was not that , but truely a war on an ugly , repressive tyranny that robbed
it's own people and led them to ruin.

What a shame, a nation with two rivers and second largest reserve of oil, as well as a dictator with 19 palaces, the contrast between opulence and poverty is the antithesis of Islam. He said Saddam was a proxy for USA and therefore his actions were condoned by them. I retaliated by saying that Saddam was a baby with a pacifier, did not know right or wrong. I told him to own up to the responsibility that lack of freedom and individuality have destroyed any intellectual inquiry in Islam. The sound engineers when I came out told me that it was the most heated discussion and one sided at that, because Omar Bakri could not regain his ground. His crusade was derailed.
Apparently he decimated this well known cleric , and this station is listened to by millions in Arab states and Pakistan etc
Iqbal does this at some risk & threat to his person , unlike the comfortable that post here , so many
