Weitai and Toshiba Team Up to Develop DVD ROM

[ Back to the News | Back HOME ]
Comline Computer Wire via Individual Inc. -- Having just received
ISO9002 certification, Weitai Technologies revealed that it will
work jointly with Toshiba <6502> to develop DVD ROM products.
Due to the abundance of opportunities for DVD technology
applications, Weitai has already received the power of
procuration for Toshiba's DVD ROM Drive, a big step towards
formally achieving its ultimate goal of Toshiba DVD procurement.
The company is a worldwide supplier of 1M to 64M DRAM
modules, with a monthly production of 200,000 units. On the
domestic side, Weitai cooperates with its affiliate Pengxin and
other major channels. The speed of change in the DRAM market,
with its daily price adjustments, causes it to be both a profitable
and risky industry. DRAM suppliers and computer channels have
a very high level of interdependence. Producers must
concurrently supply timely and reliable shipments that meet
product quality requirements. Weitai also expects that the future
domestic computer DIY market will grow rapidly. To meet this
growing demand, it plans to introduce singular DRAM modules.
