DESPERATE HELP - with a Win xp PRO problem. New notebook, Pentium 4M, 2.0, 60 mb Hard drive, 1 GB ram 4 months had been running fine. Norton and Zone alarm. Today - programs running slowly, very slow to open data files, other symptoms like cursor disappearing for a time. Tried doing a disk cleanup and that program hangs up. So I figured this was some sort of conflict. I did a system restore to when it was working about 3 weeks ago and this did not help. Then I unchecked all the startup programs (msconfig) and I still can't get disk cleanup to work. Even if it works, I'm wondering if that will help. Only a small part of hard drive is being used. Any suggestions?
