Doug. You said....." The solution to bringing the "cradle of civilization" up to speed as it were, is one that is best accomplished by leadership and example. To think that war, one of the most uncivilized activities of man, is an expression of leadership is absurd. "......

So as I asked " why is the so called cradle of civilization so far behind the rest of the free world?

Leadership and example is now being shown by the free world. The ME is now being shown an example of just how we in the free world will fight to prevent radical islam from exporting their sick way of life into our societies.

You said..." To think that war, one of the most uncivilized activities of man, is an expression of leadership is absurd. "......

Tell me something Doug, why do you have and enjoy the freedoms that you and I have today?

Do you think that war had any role in stopping those who were against freedom and do you think war is at times justified? Just how would you suggest the free world maintain their freedoms, just how can people living under a cruel dictatorship such as sadam ever get their freedoms?
To speak out against or take any action against such a dictator is a death sentence. If you were a citizen of iraq perhaps you would be brave enough to tell sadam he is wrong....much like you voice your opinion here....but I think most people are just not that brave.
