well, I've done it again ....
how in the HELL could I be so stupid ... reaaaaaaaalllly reallllllly stupid ....

yesterday, my wife and I were finishing up the remod of her office downtown ....
paint, curtains, wall hangings, new bookshelves, tables, chairs etc ...
and
as we were taking a break she turned on the computer to check email ...
and, of course, turning on a computer is music to my ears ...
AND, after she was finished with the email, I asked how long it had been since she'd run an update .. on AdAware, SpyBot, Windows, and Norton ...
I volunteered to do it ... STUPID OAF ME
AdAware fine, but 40 dataminers
SpyBot fine, but five non danger
Norton fine, but needed updates on virus
reboots were all fine after each of the above ..
and I even checked web access and email access after each ...
all ran smoothly ...
Win2K ... NINETEEN critical updates ....
update to IE six, fine, reboot fine
update to whatever the next one was ... fine
BUT ...uh oh ..UH OH ... reboot gets BLUE SCREEN of DEATH ...
NOW .. I KNOW I'M DEAD .....
how in the HELL could I even LOOK at her computer ....
the blasted thing will reboot in Safe, but error was in mem dump and/or fat32 files ...
sheeeeeeeeeeeeee
I just called her office, and so far the techie from Central Office hasn't shown up ....
and, I can feel the need to notify my proposed pallbearers to get ready ....
and I have NO defense .. none .... I'm dead meat =DEAD
