Yes. Try to live without sleeping. You will find yourself having less and less energy...to the point where you cannot even function, or even raise your eyelids. After sleeping you will find that you have energy once again. It has to do with brain fatigue.

When I say you don't have energy, I mean that energy paths must be cleared before access may be established. The patterns of synaptic brain function are still mysterious. But the access to energy and the capability to realize it kinetically are obvious facts, and need not be argued here.
