Vietnam is the scenario invoked by most military critics of Rumsfeld. Do keep in mind, it is people in the military and former military people who are the ones generating the criticism of Rumsfeld. Some of this is political infighting, but some of it is serious food for thought when we think about where this Administration is going. If there is continued terrorist activity, it seems highly likely that recent restrictions on the civil liberties of Americans will be stepped up dramatically as the the "war on terrorism." comes home to us again.
