Actually, the suit is still pending against other companies. Only UMC settled. I'll try to locate the other company names. Oak Tech Settles Patent Claim Versus Taiwan Company DOW JONES NEWS 07-31-97 > Oak Technology Inc. settled a patent dispute with Taiwan's United Microelectronics Corp. and agreed to withdraw its request for action by the International Trade Commission against the Asian company. > Oak Technology had filed a complaint with the ITC earlier in the month, alleging United Microelectronics, six other Asian companies and two of their U.S. affiliates violated U.S. trade laws by importing or selling CD-ROM drive components that infringe Oak's patents.
