Regarding your missing Word documents, you have probably tried this but I will ask just to be sure. When you are in Word go to File/Open and you will see the "Open" window. At the top where it says "Look in" it should say "My Documents". Now go to the bottom of that window where it says "Files of Type" and click the drop-down arrow at the right and select "All Files (*.*)". That way you will see EVERY file in My Documents, not just the ones with the .doc extension. Maybe your lost files will show up with a different file extension.

Good luck
Dan
