Ref <cryptologists pals bit on some misinformation fed to them by the CIA >

That info posted by Tim was reasonably accurate and ahead of the media. It potrayed exhausted and stretched US troops, unable to capture Nassarya. The same picture emerged a few days later from the US Media, and Rumsfeld took a lot of heat for not having enough troops on the ground. The coalition began its present spurt in the last week, after the supply problems were resolved and the troops had a chance to recuperate.

The major discrepancy I found in the post was that the "intercept" claimed that the US advance was held up by the regular Iraqi Army, while the media potrayed the advance as being stalled due to the unexpected resistance from the "fanatical Saddam Fedayeen".

It is always useful to hear what others are saying, even if it shades the truth. I think that I am smart enough to discern the reality. I always try to review what the Al Jazeera reporter in cities like Basra and Mosul are reporting, since non-Arab reporters are not allowed in those cities. However hacking the Al Jazeera site was a violation of the free flow of information.

The Iraqi Info(disinfo) Ministers pronouncements are meant for consumption by the Arab street which is still in denial about the failure of the Iraqi Army.

I would encourage Tim to post more intercepts.
