Well.......... stocks will go up before the bottom of the economic cycle... least they always have in the past. And valuations look bad at bottoms because earnings are so depressed.

Internals are good in the market and there are lots of bullish looking charts with companies that have reported earnings doing quite well.

When you see economic numbers improve, you'll probably say it's a statistical oddity but stocks will already be up from their lows.

As for the market right now......... it looks unstable to me.... gap up, gap down, individual issues and whole indexes moving together like that... that type of behavior is not bull activity. It is bear activity and if we didn't have so many shorts, we probably would be flat to trending slightly up or down. As it is..... it's ridiculous the moves the indexes make from day to day, imo. That doesn't mean that we haven't seen the lows though. I'm not willing to say one way or the other.
