I generally agree with you except for the "unable to capture Al Nassarya" phrase. It was never the intent of the thrust to Bagdad to become bogged down in taking every town along the way. That was to come later. While supply lines were harrassed from time to time that harrassment proved generally ineffective and was to be expected.
