the letter was about Weapons of Mass Destruction and UN inspectors been out of Iraq. The oil concern was only in context of Sadam taking over neighboring oil producing moderate arab states.

So Clinton told them to peddle their rubbish elsewhere since he didn't invade Iraq. After Clinton didn't invade, did saddam take over any neighboring oil producing moderate states? Gee, they got that one wrong. Do you think they might get something right...eventually? I don't.
And the big scary WMD threat keeps looking more and more like another tactic to use on the gullible public to manufacture support.
The main point however...the shrubbies had no concern about "Iraqi freedom" in their sales pitch then. This shows that as a component now, it's still just a sales pitch and not a true motive on their part. Something easy to shove down the public's throat. To use the public. We Americans have a tendency to accept high-minded ideals. The shrubbies despicably use our capacity to harbor good intentions and make us complicit in their killing.
