They might think there is something noble in this aggressive warmongering, I don't know.

I'm sure they will. The people in the heartland seem to buy U.S. government propaganda lock, stock, and barrel. They actually think the U.S. is a benevolent country. The media certainly portrays us that way. But, we're really amoral in the way we treat other countries. Just look at what we've done in Latin America over the past 50 years. We've destroyed all sorts of democratic movements and democractic governments in Latin America when they interferred with U.S. business interests. Guatemala and Chile are probably the best examples. Both had thriving democracies that we destroyed for our own selfish interests. The U.S. is amoral when it comes to principles like democracy and freedom. We certainly don't have a moral leg to stand on going into Iraq to impose a democracy when we supported Saddam Huessein and his equally brutal neighbor in Iran, The Shah, for years when it served our purposes to do so.
