Asyst wafer handling to go with Mattson 300-mm RTP By Semiconductor Business News Apr 8, 2003 (6:46 AM) URL: siliconstrategies.com FREMONT, Calif. -- Asyst Technologies Inc. said today (April 8, 2003) that they company has formed a development alliance with Mattson Technology Inc. with the purpose of integrating Asyst's unified atmospheric equipment front-end with Mattson's advanced 300-mm rapid thermal processing (RTP) equipment. “The relationship between Mattson and Asyst goes back many years and spans several generations of tool-loading and atmospheric wafer-handling technology,” said Stephen Schwartz, chief executive officer of Asyst Technologies, in a statement. “The development alliance leverages both companies' strengths -- Mattson's expertise in advanced RTP processes, and Asyst's in-depth knowledge of SMIF and automation technologies -- to help us increase the value of our product offerings to our global customer base," said Robert MacKnight, chief operating officer of Mattson Technology, in the same statement.
