NEW YORK, July 31 (Reuter) - America Online Inc said it had a system outage on Thursday for a little over one hour after a hardware and software problem affected its data center. An America Online spokesman in Dulles, Va. said that the world's largest online service is now back up and running. It was down from 1640 to 1753 EDT Thursday, but the exact nature of the problem in the hardware and software was not yet known. Users who were already online at that time did not have a problem but other users could not log on to the system.
