The problem I see with your rose colored glasses vision is that the US has badly undermined the UN now and countries are not pleased with the US. It doesn't go unnoticed that the offer on the table is " OK we got our way now you guys can come in and clean up the mess. If the conversion to a democracy breaks down into regional, ethnic and religious rivalry (which is entirely possible) then the US gets to sit back and say " see the UN screwed this up". Personally I feel its a mess that will not go well. Let the US clean up the bloody mess they created as they disregarded world opinion. Your plan is merely allowing the UN to be a pawn of the US as evidenced by your sentence "It is my hope the US will step back and let the UN come in to police the country and aid significantly in building a new government that serves all of the people of this country". Thanks but no thanks. The time for coordination and solidarity was before the illegal violation of the UN rules. The world is more divided and problematic now than it was before the US decided to get back at Iraq for bombing the WTC. (?) We are only on chapter one of this lengthy book.
