RE: "This is a no brainer..."

I am in the 3rd year of retirement and the market has been a drag the whole time. I am long all that I have committed to the market and most of it is in my favorite 8. I am ready for more fun, but I try to view things objectively. After WW2, in Europe, there were obvious good guys, us, and bad guys, the USSR. Our defeated opponents were happy to be occupied by us. The USSR controlled the difficult areas of the world, multi ethnic, undefined boundaries, the way Saddam ruled Iraq, by brutal repression. Now, we are going to bring "democracy" to the multi-ethnic, undefined boundaries in Iraq. We will leave troops and install an interim government. How will the market respond to suicide bombings, car bombings, truck bombings, and other attacks on our occupation troops and the new government? Remember our last "occupation" in that part of the world, in Lebanon?
